We are Hounds of Tens
This business comes from the heart — built on a lifelong love for animals and created in memory of my dog Honey, who would’ve turned 16 this year. Honey was my everything — my hiking partner, cuddle buddy, couch companion, and emotional support through so many chapters of life. In her final year, she walked beside me as I led my first pack hikes. Starting this company on her birthday felt like the most natural way to honour everything she meant to me. Hounds of Tens is for her — and now, for your dogs too.
If you can’t be there — we’ll be the next best thing.
Hi, my name is Karin and I am the founder of Hounds of Tens. Since I was a kid, animals have been my world. At age 11, I started volunteering walking dogs for the BCSPCA. I moved on to work there for 5 years as a youth educator and program coordinator, teaching children how to interact with animals using positive reinforcement methods.

"My 2 pups are used to acreage life - don’t have much experience with leashes and not quite sure how to greet other dogs. We started out with private forest walks where the dogs worked on leash and recall skills, and later moved to pack hikes, where they greatly improved their social skills! My fur babies always came home happy and tired! Karin has gone the 'extra mile' to make sure the dogs are in situations where they will succeed. 15/10 would recommend!!"

Our values
Trust
We love our dogs
We prioritize positive reinforcement as our foundation and primary method, it’s the heart of how we build trust, support learning, and nurture connection.
Feel free to ask us about our handling methods — we're always transparent and happy to talk through our approach!
Personalized
No two paws are the same
At Hounds of Tens, we aim to meet every dog where they are. Dogs all come with their own stories, energy levels, communication styles, and needs — our job is to honour that.
We limit our group hikes to four dogs so we can offer each one individual attention, promote safe social play, and create a strong connection. Every dog in our care matters.
Inclusive
Everyone is invited
Inclusivity is at the heart of this work. We welcome all kinds of dogs and all kinds of people. We know how meaningful it is to feel seen, accepted, and safe — and that’s exactly what we aim to offer.
